Good Design come from bad design

Ref: http://www.ratz.com/features.html
The basic requirement of a good web design is to avoid bad design features. I think the objective of a web site is to express the information to its audience. So, I think the creative web design is the second priority. But we should avoid the bad features such as small text, low color contrast exist in the web site. No bad feature is already a good feature.

It is a interest debate that which one is better, usability or design? A site only has design but no content at all, will not attract the readers to come again. A site will just high usability and less design is bored. For example, google.com. Its design is simple but has a high usability. However, people use it just for searching. After search the right things, they won't stay anymore.
The conclusion of the author is just make a balance between usability and design. As people is not a human, they have emotion. They want a beautiful things.
